"I am very fascinated by whales. My inspiration goes back as early as watching Free Willy over and over with my 5 siblings and then visiting Keiko in the Oregon coast aquarium when I was a young girl. In my 20's, I ventured to Alaska to live and work on a National Geographic ship for 6 months, where I saw humpback whales bubble-net feeding, and orcas spy hopping regularly. I then followed the humpbacks to Maui. In the early mornings, I'd drag my kayak down to the beach, paddle out about 45 minutes, and hang out with them for hours.
